In July 2008, RBKB was awarded “the best supplier in 2008” by Hyundai MOBIS.
RBKB has been supplying about 700 ~ 800 OES parts monthly to Hyundai MOBIS, which is the largest Korean auto parts company with OES sales, auto parts export, and module parts manufacture.
In this supplier evaluation, RBKB received the perfect score based on MOBIS’s monitoring of supplier delivery performance. Moreover, RBKB is honored to acquire the top position of the “delivery 5 star” from HMC/KMC.
Furthermore, it is a quite valuable report especially because its evaluation reflects PMI(Partner Managed Inventory, VMI) system, set up to improve customer service rate and to maintain reasonable stock level without cost increasing.
Especially, RBKB has continuously improved its process and system for PMI implementation as following.
Improvement of the logistics process
The very complicated delivery process, caused by being provided by almost 80% of OES parts from suppliers, was changed from 5 ~ 6 steps to 3 steps with improvement of value stream. As a result, RBKB saved logistics costs and reduced delivery lead time.
Set up the ordering system through Internet
1. To meet on time delivery of the customer orders, RBKB developed a new ordering system in SAP.
2. To share real time information with suppliers, customer released orders are given to them immediately by internet.
3. To provide real time production plans and packing instructions, RBKB set up its network system for packing companies.
Therefore, all of the achievement is based on collaboration and sharing information among RBKB, its suppliers and packaging company. RBKB also eliminated unnecessary processes and waste through its own Supply Chain Management strategy.
With continuous improvement, RBKB has been awarded as the best supplier by its customers.
It will strengthen the competitiveness under the rapidly changing global environment.
